Ever since we were driving to midnight mass in the pouring rain several Christmases ago and heard this playing on NPR, I have been haunted by this song. Those who prefer Sting in his Police days may not enjoy it, but to me he has found his true calling in songs like this. One listens and gets the feeling of eavesdropping through a keyhole into another time and place.
